AndyAtkinsAndRuthValerioTwo environmental pioneers will share a speaking platform when A Rocha UK’s Dr Ruth Valerio and Friends Of The Earth’s Andy Atkins give keynote talks for a one-day conference at Ashburnham Place this spring.

A Rocha UK’s Churches And Theology Director, Ruth will explore ‘the big picture from a biblical perspective’ – God’s view of creation, how people and nature are linked and why Christians should engage. There will be additional input on how community and lifestyle action can make a difference.

Friends Of The Earth chief Andy Atkins will examine ‘the big picture from the scientific perspective’ – including major environmental trends and implications for people and nature. He will also look at how campaigning works – and how you and your church can get involved.

The event called ‘Think! Environment Day – Nature, Climate, The Bible And You’ takes place on 18th April. The programme also includes such activities as a nature and climate change walk and sketching scenes from creation. Delegates will have the opportunity to draw on the East Sussex venue’s 50 years of gardening experience – with tips on how to start growing your own food.

‘It’s going to be a great day with a whole mix of things – teaching input, campaigning advice, creative activities, outdoor stuff and so on,’ said Ruth. ‘So we’re hoping it will be something that really inspires people.’

Cost is £37 per person. There are options for meals and overnight stays. Call 01424 892244 or click here. Ruth and Andy have worked together before, in particular on an exclusive interview for A Rocha UK’s website (pictured). This article can be viewed here.
