Churches who care for creation could be flushed with success at this month’s Christian Resources Exhibition (CRE). A free Toilet Hippo will be given to the first 25 who register each day with A Rocha UK’s Eco Church scheme.
FREE SURVEY
Eco Church is a free online survey with supporting resources designed to equip churches to care for God’s world in their worship and teaching; buildings and land management; community and global action, and in church members’ personal lifestyles. The Toilet Hippo is a simple, proven and low-cost water-saving device to help conserve water in toilet cisterns.
A Rocha UK has been working with the ‘ideal church show’ – as CRE is affectionately called – to create the event’s first ever Eco Street zone. Leading organisations from Christian Aid and Tearfund to Ecotricity will share environmental products and services with thousands of church representatives.
‘We’re happy to say that Eco Street is full,’ said CRE’s event director Bill Allen, ‘and we’ve even had to add another stand into the zone as we have a late addition.’
Churches And Theology Director Dr Ruth Valerio said A Rocha UK is ‘thrilled’ to become partners with CRE in this way. ‘Eco Street has been founded to help churches care for God’s earth in all areas of their lives together,’ she added.
VAST RANGE
Running from 17th-20th May, CRE is said to be one of the most ecumenical events in the Christian calendar. Church leaders can experience a vast range of resources under one roof at London’s ExCeL.
The event provides inspiration and encouragement through a programme of seminars and arts performances. Last year’s show drew 8,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors. A Rocha UK supporters can go here to secure free CRE tickets with a promotional code. You can also use the code to get your tickets here.
