“Volunteer Work Week at Abernethy Barcaple”
October 15, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - October 20, 2018 @ 12:00 pm
Free
A Rocha UK staff will be joining Duke of Edinburgh volunteers at our Partner In Action, Abernethy Centre Barcaple for a Volunteer Work Week. The work will involve hands-on conservation and aims to restore a neglected walled garden and provide an eco-education space to inspire young people to care for the planet. You will also be working on the orchard project, nurturing existing apple trees and working on some new footpaths. There will also be opportunities to explore the local area or try out one of the adventure activities offered at Barcaple.
There is no charge for the week and food and accommodation will be provided. Volunteers will arrange their own travel to and from the centre. The nearest train station is Dumfries and bus links connect to Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas where pick ups can be arranged.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, please contact Emma Johnston on 01557 820261 or at conservation.barcaple@abernethy.org.uk.
Abernethy Barcaple is a Christian outdoor adventure centre located among the rolling hills of Dumfries and Galloway, South-west Scotland.
