In the West, we live in a world that’s become a 24/7 consumer society. We want to own more, use more, eat more and drink more. It isn’t surprising that we and the earth are becoming exhausted. We will be reflecting on the importance of Sabbath for ourselves and our land, God’s invitation to break the restless cycle so we can centre our attention on what is really important: loving God, other people, and the planet, in fact all life! Andy Lester will focus on practical action we can take; Phil Stone, Director of Scargill, will explore the theology behind Sabbath and how we can care for ourselves and God’s amazing world.
